“ The best sushi & seafood buffet I've ever had! There are so many choices. I love that they have salmon sashimi, but I wished they had hamachi sashimi too. The price is on the higher end, but it's the price you pay for quality seafood! We were there an hour before closing time and they were kind enough to let us know that they were closing soon. They gave us time to get more last minute plates before they took it away. Also, this is the only place I know that has green tea soft serve ice cream! ”
“ This place is magnificent! The decor is appealing, the staff friendly and the buffet exceptional. Everything from the fries tempura, to the short ribs to the sushi were superb. Tasty tender meats, perfectly crispy fried seafood/vegetables & fresh raw fish. It is most definitely worth the $34.00 per person cost. My wife and I will absolutely come back and try more food. ”
“ Such a variety of food! From sushi, noodles, poultry, dessert, etc. Also, the green tea soft serve is amazinggggg, definitely my favorite part. We went there for a friend's birthday, and I needed a pair of scissors to cut the gift box, and asked 3 different staff members, all of whom gave me really strange looks. But I was just confused how a restaurant wouldn't have a single pair of scissors.... Anyway, food was good and that's all that matters, eh? (Next time I'll bring my own scissors!) ”
“ Minado, minado, minado!!!!! I can only describe it as Japanese food and sushi heaven this place is just freaking awesome. once you come here you will hook. forget any other sushi restaurant this is the ultimate place , but if you don't like sushi they got a soup are, a seafood area, grill area, stew area , salad area , desserts area they really got everything. Don't look no more if you are readying this review my friend stop looking just go here and you will love it. ”
“ Went for Weekday Lunch Special Food - 5/5. Really large selection of sushi, hot foods and desserts. The sushi is tasty with the white tuna tataki being my favorite. The quality is good but it is a buffet so it'll reflect that. On the hot food side, the grilled meats are among the best choices as they have really good char flavors. The seafood for the hot food items were really mediocre in comparison. Desserts have a good selection with fresh fruit, baked goods and even ice cream. A delicious experience overall. Service - 4/5. The restaurant is large but they are pretty good at taking care of all the tables. Most of the time when I left to gather more food the plates were cleared and the water was refilled. Value - 4/5. The bill will cost around $20 a person with the value varying depending on how much you eat, as with most buffets. The food choices and quality are good so you'll be happy with your purchase but there are also many options in the area that are also AYCE sushi with similar price points. The classic buffet experience is fun though and you'll enjoy it here. Parking - Private Lot (Free) ”
“ This one of those "way too good to be true, where's the catch??" sorts of places. Although I would consider Minado relatively pricey (at $32 for dinner and $18-20 for lunch) there really is no other Japanese/fusion buffet of its caliber in, I would venture as far as to say, all of north and central jersey. Where else can you find a vast assortment of sushi that is impossibly fresh, and consistently so? Crab legs, oysters, a variety of fresh salads are enough to warrant the price, and that's not including the aisle of hot foods (including short ribs, kalbi, takoyaki balls, classic American Chinese dishes that ARENT sickeningly greasy, and much more). There are customized soup options (ramen and udon) and a few prepared soups (classic miso and crab soup and one that tends to vary.) They often have fresh crepes available for dessert, green tea ice cream, and a number of cakes to choose from (Green tea with red bean filling being my favorite.) This is one of my favorite feel-good restaurants. If you have the buck, this will definitely give you a bang for it. ”
“ Disclaimer: I LOVE sushi. I really truly do. Hubby? Not so much. If sushi is not the main reason you come, there are options but not as much so be aware of this especially for the price. Now for hubby, he would never set foot there again. For me? Hell yeah I'm coming back!! So, he might have to return at least 1 more time (ok more like 3+ lol). Sorry my Dou!! The fish was fresh. Salmon sushi was buttery and the white tuna, oh m gee, get outta my way! Sushi wise, they have a lot of options. For every taste. Maybe my one complaint was there were too many spicy rolls. They should just have spicy add Ins for people like jalapeños, etc in the sauce/condiments section. But that's my opinion. The inside is a little bleak (during daytime so night would be worse) and has a cheap diner feel. So don't expect anything fancy. I didn't care really cuz I was too busy eating but this is not the place for a date, especially not first date. Just saying. Service was attentive and always present. People actually had good manners considering it's a buffet. All in all, for sushi and especially if you feel like shamelessly pigging out on sushi, this is the place for you. 25$ is a tad pricey but considering how many rolls and sushi I ate. It was very worth it for me. For Hubby not so much but again he was biased coming in. ”
“ After a 7.5 hour, 13 mile hike, scrambling over the "Giants Stairs" and fallen tree trunks and rocky trails at Palisades Interstate Park..my friends and I deserved this dinner at Minado..loll I frequent the Minado in Long Island at Carle Place, and it is still one of my favorite AYCE buffets in NY, so I was definitely looking forwards to the one in Little Ferry, NJ! When we arrived, it was packed as expected.. Saturday night, parking lot was full. From the outside, the restaurant looked like a motel.. or a warehouse. Then again, the Minado in Carle Place is in a friggin strip mall..so neither location scores points on exterior design. Inside, the Carle Place location makes this Minado look small with it's 30 foot ceilings. Little Ferry Minado has low ceilings, so on a busy night, you'll feel slightly claustrophobic inside. However, exterior and interior looks aside, the food definitely delivers! Don't get me wrong..Carle Place Minado has quality food! But Little Ferry's food is superb. So much variety of cold and hot dishes! There's more to choose from in the sushi rolls and sashimi sections too! Awkwardly, the dessert station is placed far apart from all the others (right behind the entrance), but I suppose its good exercise..make customers walk those extra 20 steps! :D Service was stellar. Despite how busy the restaurant was, our waitress was very good, refilling our glasses, or bringing me a new Sprite when she saw my glass was near empty. (Free refills on sodas all night!!) I do wanna mention.. Perhaps the owners of Minado can think about refurbishing the place.. Their furniture, tables and chairs are so old. But overall, my friends and I left full and satisfied. I will definitely return here to eat again, when I'm in Jersey! **Note** They don't accept Discover credit cards. ”
